While Lion and Safari 5 still do not natively support the display of favicons in the Bookmarks bar, there now is a way to display one of over 400 emoji icons in their stead.
- Control click on the bookmark you want to represent through a emoji icon and select “Edit Name.
- Launch the Character Viewer (look for it in the Menu Bar or System Preferences).
- Drag the emoji icons that best reflects the bookmark or scriplet into the text field.
- Click “Confirm”.
